Through an in-depth analysis of various brands and their market offerings, a significant opportunity was identified within the electrical product sector.

Form inspiration

Brush Form Exploration

Focusing on the design intent of reducing brushing time, I created multiple toothbrush head profiles to cover the largest area during brushing.

Prototyping

•Toothbrush handle forms with excessive curvature were excluded due to component constraints.

•Several head forms with varying widths and lengths were prototyped to determine the most comfortable design for brushing.

•A minimal handle with a single button was chosen to minimize the use of any confusion while using this toothbrush.

Design testing & Validation

Two brushes were tested, one with the new “V” shaped design & another with a standard design.

The “V” shaped design was able to clean more surface area within a minute while also reaching most of the mouth surface area.

The Standard toothbrush proved to have a difficult cleaning as much surface area & was only able to clean the bottom portion of the mouth within the one-minute mark.
